Oleg Sendetsky, the principal cellist of Mariinsky Theater Orchestra, visits Bay Area and perform pieces from Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras.  The Mariinsky Theater Orchestra was founded in the 18th century during the reign of Peter the Great, it was known before the revolution as the Russian Imperial Opera Orchestra. The orchestra is one of the oldest musical institutions in Russia. Mutsuko Dohi graduated from Toho-Gakuen Music Conservatory in Tokyo, and received doctor of Musical Art Degree from the St. Petersburg Conservatory. She was a finalist in International chamber music competition in Kiev, Uklaine, in 2000, and in the International Duo Competition in Kazan, Russia, in 2003.  She now lives in Oakland, CA.

They also perform "There is Hope Through Music" by Robert Van Horne, a lovely song which encourages the people of Japan who are affected by the Northern Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in March 2011.

Since the inception in January 2008, the mission of KPMF has been to inspire the youth, aged 5 to 18, and the diverse communities through the transforming beauty of piano ensemble music. The basic uni of piano ensemble is piano duet; two pianists performing on one keyboard. Once a  pianist learns how to perform ensemble with other pianist, he/she can expand into other form of ensemble, such as piano duo (2 pianists, 2 pianos), duet with other instruments, trio, quintet and a concerto.

KPMF has organized concerts and educational sessions by inviting world-class artists from around the world. To date, we have involved over 3,500 people, organized three dozen master classes,  and presented approximately 300 young artists in performing piano ensemble.

Monster Piano Concert, which involves a dozen grand pianos,  presents a unique opportunity for pianists to perform an orchestra in piano. Dennis Alexander, an internationally acclaimed composer, pianist, and clinician, conducted 115 pianists from all over the Bay area at the 2010 Monster Piano Concert. The pianists acquired an experience not only to perform with other pianists but also to perform under the direction of a conductor.
