Oleg Sendetsky, the principal cellist of Mariinsky Theater Orchestra, visits Bay Area and perform pieces from Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras. The
Mariinsky Theater Orchestra was founded in the 18th century during the reign of Peter the Great, it was known before the revolution as the
Russian Imperial Opera Orchestra. The orchestra is one of the oldest musical institutions in Russia.
Mutsuko Dohi graduated from Toho-Gakuen Music Conservatory in Tokyo, and received doctor of Musical Art Degree from the St. Petersburg Conservatory. She was a finalist in International chamber music competition in Kiev, Uklaine, in 2000, and in the International Duo Competition in Kazan, Russia, in 2003. She now lives in Oakland, CA.
They also perform "There is Hope Through Music" by Robert Van Horne, a lovely song which encourages the people of Japan who are affected by the Northern Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in March 2011. Program:
